Volunteer

Only sovereigns can be saviours, And only saviours can be kings.
I could not separate my skin (you can't get out of this one)
I could not salivate my scheme (you've gone and spun your last one)
But I'll stand my ground and start to live (you barely move a less one)
Proud and sincere just like the volunteer.
Only heroes can be hated, and only hatred wins the war.
I could defend myself in words
I could pretend how much it hurts (the victor's throne has frozen)
But I'll linger on throughout the search (looking, leaping, choking)
Proud and sincere, just like the volunteer

The First Stone

We don't even see, it's important but it seems these things are often overlooked.
Meanwhile you creep out from your den, a fortress built of hemp, sticks and branches that won't bend.
And then the first stone's thrown, but who'll be the first to run?
They've been brought down on their knees, but not since they believed in the fortune fate had sealed.
So what's the use in trying my friend, you're dying my friend, stop crying my friend, out for what it used to be.
And then the first stone's thrown, but who'll be the first to run.
They only try to put you off, just to keep you holding on.
Chance ain't nothing but the right time, and the right time now has come.
And then the first stone's thrown, but who'll be the first to run?

All Blown Off

In the way that she raised me, I wish it could've been soft.
And that no one could save me, now it's al blown off.
Yes it's all blown off now, but nothing seems to have gone,
It's all blown off now, and the darkness has come.
In the same situation I had coloured my groans.
Not kept in waiting, but in the veins of my pulse.
Yes it's all blown off now, but nothing seems to have gone,
It's all blown off now, and the darkness has come.

The Boss

Ain't no telling what it is he wants, but what he got was everything at once.
Bit off a bit more than he could chew, that's what makes the difference between him and you.
He's a sight seeker, the reeled, dipped teaser, fiending for your glue.
He's a wife beater, the wild red theatre with seating for a crew.
From me to you I assume that man's the boss.
Ain't no telling why it is he came, but when he left the site was in a state.
Catastrophic damage at the ball, left ankles, trousers standing in the hall.
He's a go getter, the real deal leather, stuck to bone like glue.
He's a trend setter, the white, creased letter sending out the view
From me to you, I assume that man's the boss.
He's a vile creature, the mad bad teacher, handing out the glue,
He's a mile deeper than the average sleeper, dreaming of the blue.
From me to you I assume that man's the boss.

Thompson Crowley Adelaide, Australia
After many years wandering around Britain in campervans, tents; on bikes; with prams, bags, buggies, I now find myself in Spain, preparing to flee to Australia. I'll be leaving behind the bands I created in London and Edinburgh, such as: The Rum Deals, The Patches & The Fed Peasants. Read about my adventures here: www.facebook.com/athomeinthebushes And for me, well, something new is coming... ... more
